Stumbled across the awesome work of the talented Brooklyn artist Erik Jones. If you happen to be in San Francisco this month I highly recommend checking out the Supersonic Electronic show at Spoke Art that will run until January 26th featuring some of Erik’s work.

I Love You to Death

Don’t be fooled by the pastels and cuddly teddy bears in the paintings.
Texas native artist Loretta Gonzalez pays tribute to the murders of children by their mothers in her I Love You to Death series. As you look closer, you will see that the teddy bears are actually in tears or splattered with blood while an emotionless female is committing the act. Psychologically and aesthetically intriguing, the series compels you to explore the vulnerability and disturbance that linger in such situations.
